A Terrible Loss

I dedicate this poem to Kankan...who is no more alive...we were the captain of Blue House and that year he lost his life....

That day...we were chosen,
The crown was put..oh! so heavy,
But we both shared it,
And promised to do so...till we passed it.

Both had a long way to go...
To prove that people were right in their decision,
And we did so,
And took a resolution.

Our heads raised high...
People praised us,
And we walked hand in hand,
Before darkness embraced us.

One day he fell ill,
Doctors said its brain tumour,
And I could do nothing more,
But pray it was a rumour.

Days passed and turned to weeks...
And u still lay silent,
In your eyes I could relive the dreams we saw together,
Some accomplished and others yet to grow feather.

The first time ever Blue House lost,
But the plain hope that you existed,
Gave me strength to move on.

You were ill but still you said,
"In the board ill compete with you",
And as always we enjoy competing,
That was very true.

Just a day before you were operated,
I paid a visit to you,
I was scared to enter your silent mansion,
Which earlier echoed with your giggles and gooes.

A ray of hope that you would recover,
Prayers that you would join us soon,
Because I could no longer bear the responsibility,
Without the strong shoulders of you.

It seemed that God had planned something else,
Because u never really got better,
But worsened day by day,
Till u left us forever.

The last time I saw u(the picture still alive in my eyes),
Before they carried you away,
Your pall-bearers I wanted to be one,
Though I had no courage to say.

What next...Blue House got a new boy captain,
Something which I always opposed,
And I lost a true friend,
A partner who was so very close.

May God give strength to your family,
To bear this terrible loss,
And everyday I pray for you...
And will till I breadth my last.
