Relationship Pittfalls

It’s a great feeling to grow old with somebody, not only because of the good times spent together but also because of the patch ups which brought you even closer. There are ups and downs in every relationship and how you cope up with them actually defines it.

Unrealistic expectations are the primary murderers of a healthy relationship. Often people have expectations of partners which could not be true in real life. Try not to build standards for him/her and never compare your relationship to what you fancied, saw on TV or movies or with your friends. Realise that nobody is perfect and neither are you. It’s the simplest and smallest of things that we really live, love and enjoy.

Almost every relationships start with “I love you more than I love myself” which comes out right from the heart. So why during the course of the relationship you tend to change your partner the way you are. It is the differences in him/her that you loved the uniqueness that you admired. If you mould the person your way then the best that you deserve is to love your reflection. So please learn to respect and value the differences.

Look for the good in your partner and thank them for the small things they do to help bring you happiness in life. Don’t take for granted the listening, favours or companionship your partner may provide. Considering the good of your relationship will help achieve you contentment and tranquillity.

Sharing passwords or other details is good but do not intrude or check regularly. If your counterpart is reluctant in sharing password, respect the thought. Admit it, how much the involvement may be, everyone needs some privacy and space to breathe in.

Do not talk about the past mistakes. It is like going through the same pain and agony again and again. So better avoid the past grudges and fights. Of course you can have a new one and enjoy another patch up.
